Description

Our stylised fish hook Genuine New Zealand Greenstone pendant symbolises prosperity, good luck and success. Fish were traditionally so plentiful and important to the native New Zealand people, the Maori, that the simple ownership of a fish hook meant success. Maori culture has historically been oral so with no written language to pass on their cultural heritage, ancestry beliefs, legends, and other cultural elements the traditional carvings and other art forms flourished. We are honoured to be able to carry on with this tradition. This unique and beautiful piece of genuine New Zealand Greenstone or Pounamu as the Maori people have named it, has been hand carved and then lightly oiled to bring out the natural beauty of the stone.
